Why we made this
Most face shape advice starts with a question people find hard to answer: what shape is my face? Measuring with a tape is fiddly and guessing in the mirror is unreliable. faceshapedetectorfree.com answers that question in seconds from a single photo, then gives practical advice for your shape.
How the detector works
The detector uses Google’s MediaPipe Face Landmarker, which places 478 points on a face. From those points it measures forehead, cheekbone and jaw width, face length and jaw angle, then compares those proportions with the seven face shapes.
Your privacy
The analysis runs in your own browser. Your photo is never uploaded to our servers, stored or shared. You can read more in our privacy policy.
How accurate is it?
The tool is consistent, because it measures the same points in the same way every time, but no tool is perfect. Lighting, head angle, hair and expression all affect the result. Treat it as a helpful guide, and use a straight-on photo with your hair pulled back for the best result.
